Ipsum, not 160,000 km.

Engine mountings, brake disc & drive shafts

We have travelled more than 160,000 km with our Ipsum over more than 4 years it has been with us. It is a good car, serves us well.

We went back to Sun Hup Tyres and after their test drive, they confirmed that the engine mountings, brake disc and drive shafts needed replacements. Sun Hup Tyres are the panel workshop for Mutiara Motors who is in charged for re-conditioning Mutiara's imported vehicles.

We were told that Brembo is doing a promotion for Ipsum this month. RM650 per pair inclusive of labour and the new discs has been installed. Braking is better than before.

These are the old engine mountings. Original parts and labour costed RM1,300. The gear change is now as smooth as it was first delivered by Mutiara Motors to us. No engine jerking felt.

No image for the shafts. They are reconditioned shafts, other parts (coupling etc) are new and original. Costed us RM800 for the pair inclusive of labour and alignments. Brand new shaft should cost above RM1k per side. We chose reconditioned parts as it was suggested by Sun Hup Tyres.

We have successfully reconditioned our Ipsum!

149,100 km major service

Battery Replacement

Another new set of Century maintenance free NS60L was installed this
morning. The previous set was purchased in November 2010 which lasted
for over 1 and a half year.

Tyres - changed

Time for tyre change and engine service.

Mileage - 138,711 km

Our 3rd set of new tyres. Fan belt was changed too.
